Adna - Night

What a beautiful voice to discover this morning.

I discovered Adna through Music Robot, a new website that puts together tracks derived from a collection of music blogs.

Adna is just 19 years old and released her first album "Night" in February. Her album reflects the silent soundscapes and atmosphere of being alone in the night beautifully.

Their new album will be released September 22nd. They haven't released a new album since the release of their very first album, An Awesome Wave, in May of 2012.

St.Lucia Releases Deluxe Edition of "When The Night" and Announces 2014 Tour Dates

St. Lucia released a deluxe edition of their album When The Night on Tuesday, June 17th. The album includes an extra three songs including "Forgiveness", "Cold Case", and "Out Tonight." You can order their deluxe album through iTunes or Amazon. Take a listen to their album below.

Artist Spotlight - Ben Myers

Ben Myers is a singer/songwriter from Lawrence, Kansas. On his twitter page, he describes his music this way: "If a 60s folk/pop songwriter started listening to 80s alt rock". I think this describes his musical style with great accuracy! Ben has been releasing albums since 2006. His newest album was released in March 2014, and is titled "Daylight Moon". You can buy Daylight Moon through the iTunes App Store, Amazon, or through his Bandcamp. His music can be described as dreamy, ethereal, and beautiful. It reflects on the different aspects of life, love, and frustration.

This is Jack White's second studio album, though he's released many albums before as a part of The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather. Sam Smith's New LP - In The Lonely Hour

The highly anticipated album from UK artist Sam Smith releases this Tuesday (June 17th). The LP is titled The Lonely Hour and will include 10 tracks, including his single debut "Stay With Me", which soon became his first Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit.

Today was day one of Bonnaroo!
Bonnaroo is one of the largest music festivals in the United States. Past headliner bands have included Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beach Boys, Radiohead, and Paul McCartney. This years headliner is Elton John.

On This Day in Music - June 9th

Surely you've listened to at least a portion of the award-winning album, "Amnesiac"by Radiohead but on this day in 2001, the album went to number one on the charts in the United Kingdom. While it isn't their most commercially successful album, it is a fan-favorite of many "Radioheads". Although the album is over ten years old, Radiohead continues to play several songs from the album when touring. Go and have a listen to one of the singles from "Amnesiac" - "Pyramid Song"

Ben Khan - 1992 EP

London based musician Ben Khan released an EP titled 1992 featuring 4 songs. His style can be described as funky neo-soul modern pop with an electronic edge. Check out his EP below.
 

Trampled by turtles releases new single

Americana group, Trampled by Turtles, recently released a new single entitled, "Are You Behind The Shining Star?" along with a music video for the track. This new song sees the group striving for a more folk sound and less of a bluegrass sound which has been an overlying theme of their past albums. The music video features the band caught in an artsy stop-motion room that appears to be heavily influenced byWes Anderson.

On This Day in Music - June 7th

On this day in 1967, The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" hit number one in the United Kingdom. The record took over seven hundred hours to record and was the first album to print the lyrics on the sleeve. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" continued to be at number one in the United Kingdom for the next twenty seven weeks. Let's celebrate this day with a track from the legendary album -
